Sevilla Clinches Record 6th Europa League Title, Defeating Inter Milan 3-2
The two Moroccan internationals Yassine Bounou and Youssef En Nesyri and their FC Seville teammates won, on Friday, August 21, the Europa League title against Inter Milan (3-2).
After winning this trophy in 2006, 2007, 2014, 2015 and 2016, the Andalusians confirm their supremacy in the championship. The match, which took place behind closed doors, allowed FC Seville to win against their opponent of the day (3-2).
From the start of the match, Inter Milan opened the scoring on a penalty scored in the 5th minute by Romelu Lukaku. Seven minutes later, FC Sevilla equalized and increased the score in the 33rd minute thanks to a brace from Sevilla striker Luuk De Jong. Inter Milan’s equalizer dampened the hopes of Bounou and En-Nesyri’s teammates.
The victory was offered by the Brazilian Diego Carlos on a bicycle kick, following a free kick obtained by the Spaniards. If the Moroccan goalkeeper surpassed himself in the game by preventing the worst for his club, his compatriot En-Nesyri came on in the 85th minute before celebrating the 6th title with his teammates.
