Settat City Councilor Faces Prosecution for Assault and Property Damage During Meeting

Legal troubles are looming for the member of the Settat city council who physically assaulted one of his colleagues and destroyed public property during a council meeting. His referral to the public prosecutor at the court of first instance was effective on Monday.
In a video posted on YouTube, we can see the councilor in question physically assault one of his colleagues and break the furniture during one of the last council sessions. Investigations by the territorial administration show that this is not the first time he has been the author of such disturbances. A first time, during the election of the council leaders, the second time, when he prevented the representative of the Ministry of Health from making a presentation before the Council, reports Alyaoum24.
Consequently, a complaint for vandalism of public property was filed against him after the governor of the province of Settat had asked him for explanations as part of the procedure for his dismissal. He is also the subject of other complaints: a complaint filed by the councilor he had hit with a sound amplifier during a council session and another for refusing to implement the decision to demolish an illegal construction by adding a residential floor dating from 2020.
