Senegal Charters Flight to Repatriate Citizens Stranded in Morocco Amid COVID-19 Travel Ban

Senegal has chartered a special flight for the repatriation of its nationals blocked in Morocco due to the measures taken by the authorities to counter the COVID-19 epidemic, including the suspension of air flights.
Massamba Sarr, Senegal’s Consul General in Casablanca, announced the news on RTS. According to the diplomat, the Senegalese nationals stranded in Morocco will be repatriated this Sunday, March 22. He was keen to reassure about the smooth running of the operation in compliance with the health standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO) to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
The emigrants who came from Europe and are stranded between Dakhla and the border between Morocco and Mauritania are not affected by this operation, Massamba Sarr specified. According to the explanations of the Senegalese Consul General in Casablanca, "this rather concerns Senegalese who had recently gone to Morocco for various needs".
