Saudi Arabia Sets Eid al-Adha Date for July 20, Marking Major Islamic Holiday

After Ramadan, Muslims are preparing to celebrate Eid al-Adha. Saudi Arabia announced on Friday, July 9, the date of this celebration.
The Saudis are now set on the date of the celebration of Eid al-Adha. In a statement released on Friday, July 9, the Supreme Court (High Court of Justice) of Saudi Arabia indicated that this Saturday, July 10 is the thirtieth day of the month of Dhu al-Qi’da and Monday, corresponding to July 19, will be the first day of the encampment of Mount Arafat, reports APS.
The month of Dhul-Hijjah thus begins on Sunday, July 11, and the first day of Eid al-Adha has been set for Tuesday, July 20. The holiday will therefore be celebrated on July 20. Supporters of the unified Muslim calendar like Turkey or the Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF) have also retained this date.
