Saudi Arabia Limits 2021 Hajj to Residents, Excluding Foreign Pilgrims

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has announced that the Royal Commission for the Pilgrimage will maintain for the next Hajj season the results of the draw (lists of selected and waiting lists of the official organization and tourist travel agencies) for the 1441 AH season. Moroccans will not be able to perform the 2021 Hajj due to the exclusion of all nationalities.
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has been informed by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj of the decision of the Saudi authorities to limit the performance of the pilgrimage rite this season to Saudis and residents in Saudi Arabia of various nationalities, due to the prevailing situation in the world with the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic and the emergence of new variants, as well as the warnings of the World Health Organization (WHO) about the danger of the increase in infections among populations, in accordance with the precepts of Sharia which advocate the preservation of human life, the statement said.
The ministry then informs all citizens that the decision emanating from the Royal Commission for the Pilgrimage, at its extraordinary meeting held on June 23, 2020, regarding the maintenance of the results of the draw operation (lists of selected and waiting lists of the official organization and tourist travel agencies) for the 1441 AH season will remain in effect for the next Hajj season, concludes the same source.
