Sahrawi Youth Dies in Desert as Group Attempts Escape from Tindouf Camps to Morocco

It was a real hell that 5 young Sahrawis who were planning to travel from Tindouf to Morocco had to live through. One of them died of thirst.
While the Polisario militias have tightened the noose around the Tindouf camps to prevent any rallying to Morocco, five young Sahrawis still tried their luck. But it did not go well.
According to Hespress, the vehicle in which they were traveling broke down in the middle of nowhere. They were unable to repair it. And they started wandering in the endless desert. And they finally got lost...
The members of their families and their relatives defied the militias and actively set out to search for them, within a radius of 200 kilometers around the so-called Rabouni camp. Fortunately, they were able to find four of the young people still alive. But the fifth, found on Monday, had died of thirst.
The body of the latter, named Ahmed Mahmoud Addid, was transferred to the Dakhla camp in Tindouf. According to the same source, the family of the deceased holds the Polisario responsible for this tragedy, as they severely restrict freedom of movement. If they had been free to move around, they would certainly have better prepared their trip.
