Sahrawi Activist Aminatou Haidar Barred from Flight After Positive COVID-19 Test

The Sahrawi activist, Aminatou Haidar, was unable to board a Royal Air Maroc flight because she tested positive for Covid-19, according to a statement from the airline.
In a statement quoted by La Map, RAM clarified the situation, following "erroneous information circulated on social networks about the travel conditions of this passenger." The company states that Aminatou Haidar, who tested positive for Covid-19, was reported by the health authorities in Laâyoune. "She was therefore prevented from boarding flight AT1418 this Wednesday, November 18, departing from Laâyoune to Las Palmas," it adds.
It also recalls that passengers who test positive for the coronavirus cannot board its planes or any other airline, in accordance with the procedures in force.
For Royal Air Maroc, this collaboration between the health authorities, the local authorities and the National Company allows to preserve the health of the passengers and the safety of the flights.
To limit the spread of contamination, any person infected with Covid-19 must observe a strict 14-day confinement and avoid any contact with other people, the statement said.
