Ryanair Introduces $100 Fine for Late Check-In at Airports

Henceforth, passengers who arrive at the airport less than 40 minutes before boarding to complete the check-in formalities will be fined 100 euros, the airline Ryanair has announced.
This measure aims to reduce passenger delays at boarding as well as operating costs, and to improve flight punctuality, the Irish low-cost carrier said. Thus, any traveler who arrives at the airport less than 40 minutes before the departure of their flight could be fined 100 euros, reports DublinLive.
Late passengers should also pay a fine of 120 euros for missing their initial flight, before being allowed to board the next flight, explains Ryanair, adding that the same penalty will be applied to passengers who arrive at the airport an hour after the departure of their initial flight, hoping to board the next flight. The new rule will take effect from May 1, 2025.
For the record, Ryanair recently announced the switch to digital boarding passes starting November 3, 2025. This card will be generated by the "myRyanair" app during check-in, the airline said, indicating that this measure aims to reduce the carbon footprint of passengers who will no longer have to print boarding passes on paper. Despite this announcement, Moroccan authorities still require the printed boarding pass.
