Ryanair Flight Grounded in Marrakech After Passenger Disruption

In Marrakech, a passenger prevented a Ryanair flight bound for Perpignan-Rivesaltes airport from taking off.

An unexpected incident at Marrakech airport. A Ryanair flight that was about to take off on Saturday, July 16 had to turn back and resume its initial position, to the general surprise of the passengers. "It was stressful, everyone started to panic. We had an announcement in English, but no other communication from the crew," testifies Jean-Michel Martinez, from the website TVCAT.fr, a passenger on this flight contacted by Actu Perpignan. The passengers later learned what was happening. A passenger seated at the front of the plane would simply have refused to fasten her seatbelt before takeoff. Faced with this refusal, the pilots would in turn have asked the lady to leave the plane. Thanks to the intervention of the Moroccan law enforcement, she will eventually comply after a few minutes.

"The flight to Perpignan this Saturday morning turns around on the Marrakech tarmac because of a lady who refuses to put on her seatbelt. After an hour of negotiation with the Ryanair crew, the resistant was disembarked to the applause of the passengers who could no longer stand waiting in total ignorance of the incident. This almost caused a panic on board...", reports the journalist Jean-Michel Martinez in a post on the Facebook page of TVCAT.fr. After the incident, the plane was able to take off and land 55 minutes late at Llabanère.
