Ryanair Cancels Belgian Flights Amid Cabin Crew Strike, Affecting Morocco Routes

This three-day strike by Ryanair cabin crew members working at Belgian airports was announced last Friday by the French-speaking Christian union CNE and the Flemish ACV Puls, reports Belga, stating that they are demanding a new collective agreement on cabin crew salaries and bonuses.

In a statement, the airline explained that "despite Ryanair’s continued efforts to negotiate with the Belgian cabin crew union, the CNE, they have decided to abandon the negotiations and proceed with an unnecessary and unilateral strike action at Charleroi and Zaventem airports in Belgium this weekend. The CNE claims to want to ’teach Ryanair a lesson’, but unfortunately it is Ryanair’s customers who are affected by these unnecessary strikes."

As a result, the company said it was forced to cancel flights departing from Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL) and Brussels Airport (BRU) during the strike days. However, it claims to maintain certain flights not operated by teams based in Belgium.

"All affected customers will be notified by email and informed of their options, such as flight change or refund," it added.
