Ryanair strengthens its connections between Spain and Morocco with the return of a direct flight between Alicante and Fès. The route, operated during the summer season, allows travelers to reach the spiritual capital of the kingdom until the end of September.

The Irish airline resumed service on Tuesday, June 2, on its link between Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández airport and Fès-Saïss airport. Flight FR9978 connects the two cities in just under an hour and a half, with service scheduled during the high tourist season.

This route gives Fès a special place in Ryanair’s summer network departing from Alicante. Unlike typical beach destinations, the Moroccan city attracts mainly through its heritage, its medina, its historic monuments and its image as a cultural destination. For Spanish travelers, it offers direct access to one of Morocco’s oldest urban centers, without going through Casablanca, Marrakech or Tangier.

The route also interests Moroccans living in southeastern Spain, particularly in the Alicante and Murcia regions. It facilitates family travel during summer, a period marked by strong mobility toward Morocco. For some travelers, this direct flight avoids longer journeys via other Spanish or Moroccan cities.
