Ryanair's Abrupt Cancellation of Malaga-Nador Route Sparks Outrage Among Moroccan Expats

The sudden cancellation by Ryanair of the Malaga-Nador route has sparked a wave of discontent among Moroccans residing in Spain, as well as Moroccan and foreign tourists who used to take this route.

MREs and tourists in general have expressed their incomprehension following the cancellation without notice and without justification of this route that operated from April to October and helped strengthen the air connection between the Oriental region and southern Spain and facilitate travel during peak periods in summer.

MREs and tourists are questioning the reasons that led the Irish low-cost airline to make this decision, also denouncing the silence of the authorities in Nador and the Oriental region, as well as those of the Ministry of Transport, the National Airports Office, reports Nadorcity.

The cancellation of the Malaga-Nador route has forced MREs residing in southern Spain to change their travel plans and go through distant airports such as Tangier or Fez, which involves additional costs and time losses. It also affects Spanish tourists who could easily access the Rif region.

Several people have called on the competent authorities, both local and central, to provide explanations to the public about this abrupt and unmotivated cancellation and to work towards restoring this route or replacing it with another.
