Rwanda Opens Embassy in Morocco, Strengthening Diplomatic Ties

Olivier Nduhungirehe, Rwandan Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, inaugurated this new embassy in Rabat on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.
The opening of this embassy comes after that of Morocco in Kigali in April 2017. It is of particular importance for the two countries as it is part of the strengthening of bilateral relations, especially after the visit of King Mohammed VI to Kigali in October 2016, said the Rwandan Secretary of State at the end of the inauguration ceremony.
The head of the Rwandan diplomacy recalled that 23 agreements and twelve other agreements in various important areas for the economy, including agriculture, industry and pharmaceuticals, had been signed during this visit.
According to him, this embassy will promote the exchange of visits between the peoples of the two countries. It will also contribute to promoting business visits, while allowing Moroccan investors to learn about the business climate in Rwanda.
"We are now in a very promising phase of bilateral relations," said Nasser Bourita for his part.
