Russian Tourists Return to Agadir as Morocco Eases Travel Restrictions

Russian tourists arrived on Sunday, June 6 in Agadir, coming from Moscow. This allows tourism professionals to regain their smile.
In Agadir, tourism professionals are rediscovering the joy of living. In a statement to Le360, Larbi Idboussaid, manager of a hotel establishment, indicated that the delegation includes 35 Russian tourists, and that it is the first of its kind since the closure of Moroccan airspace to many international flights.
Tourism professionals gave them a warm welcome. "All the precautionary measures recommended by the authorities to prevent the spread of Covid-19" have been taken, assures the manager. He is optimistic about the summer season. According to him, tourism activity should gradually resume in Agadir, after more than a year and a half of difficulties. Larbi Idboussaid specified that the opening of new air links Russia-Morocco is expected in the next few days.

"We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome we received when we arrived here," testifies Ana, one of the tourists. [...] I am particularly happy to be here in Morocco, a country where the weather is nice and which is full of historical monuments and tourist sites to visit and discover."
Russia is one of the few countries, along with Morocco, that had not suspended air links. On Sunday, the Moroccan authorities decided to resume flights to and from Morocco as of Tuesday, June 15, 2021. A decision that caused popular jubilation and a large influx in front of the Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and Air Arabia agencies.
