Russian Futsal Team Dons Hijabs for Iran Match, Respecting Local Customs

On a trip, the Russian futsal players, who were to play two friendly matches in Iran, did not hesitate to wear hijab instead of their usual jerseys. By dressing in an "Islamically correct" manner, they intended to demonstrate their attachment to respecting the dress code in force in the host country.
Swapping the usual shirts and t-shirts for the hijab: the Russian futsal players did it. It was after receiving the approval of Alexandr Kochetkov, the team’s manager, that the Russian players wore these new "in sign of respect for the Muslim religion" attributes for the duration of the match.
To comply with the dress code in force in this Asian country, which is very attentive to religious practices and the protection of morals, the Russian players wore the hijab, leggings and more covering jerseys.
Delighted with the partnership established between the two federations, Alexandr Kochetkov acknowledged the merit of Iran, "the leading futsal country in Asia", which, on the geopolitical level, maintains excellent relations with Russia.
