Russia Assures Timely Grain Deliveries to Morocco Amid Global Supply Concerns

Like other countries importing Russian cereals, Morocco has been facing difficulties for a few months, due to the war in Ukraine. A situation that is improving according to the commercial representative of Russia in Morocco.
In a statement made to the TASS agency, Artyom Tsingamzgvrishvil assured that Morocco will receive Russian grain deliveries on time. According to the diplomat, "Russian grain suppliers are traditionally active in the Moroccan direction, while Morocco, in turn, is one of the world’s leading importers of wheat." He says he is aware of the urgency for Morocco to be delivered on time, especially since the current season has been disadvantaged by climatic hazards, reports Libre Entreprise.
For the Russian commercial representative in Morocco, "Morocco is Russia’s third largest trading partner in Africa after Egypt and Algeria", adding that "Russian grain deliveries to Morocco amounted to $75 million in 2017, $103 million in 2018, $102 million in 2019, $94 million in 2020, $49 million in 2021".
According to him, "Russia’s exports to Morocco have grown by 53%, while imports from Morocco have also increased by 36%, mainly due to the growth of Moroccan citrus exports (by 52%)".
