Royal Moroccan Navy Frigate Resumes Operations After Modernization

The FREMM Mohammed VI of the Royal Navy has put to sea on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, after a technical shutdown since September 2020 at the Naval Group Lorient site.
A shutdown "planned in the maintenance plan of the frigate, whose operational maintenance (MCO) is ensured by Naval Group," explains the company to the French newspaper Le Télégramme. Having an available basin on its Lorient site, it "offered to make the infrastructure available".
The importance of this technical shutdown is to "restore the ship’s full potential for its upcoming missions and allow a number of modernizations, including the installation of the helicopter platform handling system (Samahé)". The period of the technical shutdown ended last week, and the frigate Mohammed VI carried out two days of sea trials.
