Royal Institute Announces Winners of 2020 Amazigh Culture Prize

The names of the laureates were unveiled on the IRCAM website. Brahim El Mazned won the merit prize, while the national prize for translation was awarded to Larbi Moumouch, who translated the novel "The Death of Ivan Ilyich" by the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy from Russian to Amazigh, reports the MAP.

As for the national prize for Amazigh literary creation, it was awarded to Lhoussine Assaid for his collection of tales entitled "Turtut n yidil", and to Lahcen Bensaid for the collection of songs for children, entitled "Urtan n tumrt".

The national media and communication prize was awarded to Houcine Ouzzig, for his reports (Channel 2M) in Amazigh on the coronavirus pandemic in several laboratories and hospitals, while the national prize for studies, research and computer programs was awarded to Badr Boudhan who presented a set of digital media for learning and teaching Amazigh through cartoons.

Regarding the national prize for modern song, it was won by Soufiane Al Bouzakhti from the group "Rif Expérience" for the song "Tarifit", and the national prize for traditional song went to Ali Ait Bouzid for his song "Laâdat". As for the national film prize, it was awarded to Tarek El Idrissi for his film "Drz n tmazgha", indicates IRCAM.
