Royal Air Maroc Flight Delay Strands Passengers for 24 Hours on New Year’s Eve

A Royal Air Maroc flight departing from Fez and bound for Paris-Orly experienced a 24-hour delay, turning the vacation of many French passengers into a real nightmare. The plane, initially scheduled for Monday afternoon, did not take off until Tuesday, a few hours before New Year’s Eve.
Catherine, who was traveling with her family, testifies to this grueling experience to the newspaper Le Parisien. Arriving at Fez-Saïss airport at 2:30 pm for a scheduled boarding at 3:40 pm, they suffered a series of delays without the slightest explanation from the company. "We waited in the boarding area until 11:30 pm, without any information," she reports.
The wait took place under precarious conditions: lack of information, evasive airport staff, minimal distribution of water and sandwiches, partially closed toilets without toilet paper...
Among the passengers, families with young children and elderly people under medical treatment particularly suffered from this situation.
Finally, the passengers were transferred to a hotel at 11:30 pm, after going through security and customs checks again. A message from Royal Air Maroc promised them information for the next day at noon. "At 12:13 pm, we received an email announcing that the previous day’s flight had been canceled!" Catherine indignantly exclaims.
In the early afternoon, a bus was chartered to take them back to the airport, but the company failed to notify the passengers. The plane finally took off at 4:20 pm, with more than 24 hours of delay.
"I am especially upset by the company’s lack of consideration," laments Catherine, pointing to Royal Air Maroc’s silence and the absence of any responsible person. Fatigue, stress, and unexpected expenses were added to the passengers’ frustration. As for a possible refund, Catherine is very pessimistic.
