Royal Air Maroc Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Lagos After Cargo Door Alarm

Having just taken off, the Royal Air Maroc (RAM) flight AT 554 from Lagos to Casablanca made an emergency landing at Murtala Mohammed Airport in Nigeria...
The trigger for this emergency landing was the triggering of an alarm concerning the cargo hold door of the Boeing 737-700. This technical incident occurred shortly after the plane took off at 5:30 am on Sunday, October 20, reports the site Premium Times.
Immediately, the pilot of Royal Air Maroc (RAM) flight AT 554 informed the control tower of Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos of the situation. This is how it authorized him to make an emergency landing.
After landing, officers from the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft.
"In accordance with emergency standards and training, all parties concerned proceeded to unload and reload the luggage of all passengers on board the aircraft after inspecting them," said Henrietta Yakubu, spokeswoman for the federal airport authorities of Nigeria.
The thorough inspection of the RAM plane was conclusive: all the luggage was intact. And the plane took off again towards Casablanca at 10:06 am, with a four-hour delay.
