Royal Air Maroc Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Bird Strike Damages Engine

A Royal Air Maroc plane from Douala to Casablanca was forced to turn back shortly after takeoff. The reason given was that one of the aircraft’s engines was damaged after a collision with birds.
According to an official of the company, contacted by Assahra Al Maghribia, the plane, a Boeing 737-800, had to make an emergency landing after a collision with birds in flight that damaged one of its engines.
None of the plane’s engines caught fire, as some rumors had announced, the official reassured, specifying that the pilot made the right decision and acted according to the procedures in place.
The emergency landing at Douala airport went without incident. The flight AT 507 in question was expected at Mohammed V International Airport at 11:50 am.
