Royal Air Maroc Considers Second Round of Layoffs Amid Financial Challenges

Royal Air Maroc wants to further reduce its workforce. This is a decision that the management of the airline could make in the coming months.
The staff of Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is not immune to a second wave of layoffs, reports L’Economiste. Abdelhamid Addou, CEO of RAM, confirmed the information, which in the meantime has been considered a rumor.
However, he set conditions: "Anything is possible! In any case, there will be no second wave in the short term, at least not for the next four to eight weeks. But one thing is certain, if we pay off the debt, there will be a resurgence of optimism, especially if activity resumes. Depending on the evolution of the recovery curve, we will know whether optimism will return or not," he announced.
As part of the layoffs for economic reasons decided by the national airline, the airline has parted ways with a large part of its staff, including about sixty pilots, in order to cope with the crisis caused by the coronavirus.
