Repsol and Ravago plan to build the largest polypropylene (PP) compound plant for the automotive sector in Morocco. It will be located in the Tangier free zone and will be operational as of 2023.
The plant will have a production capacity of 18,500 tons per year to meet the demand of local customers, Repsol said in a statement, noting that this new plant will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and will be supplied with base resins produced in Spain.

In Morocco, the PP compounds will be used for the production of door and engine panels, bumpers, lighting and heating systems, etc. Under the agreement with Ravago, Repsol will market most of the products from the new plant in Morocco under its Repsol Isplen and Repsol Impacto brands. As for Ravago, it will manufacture polyamide (PA), polycarbonate/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (PC-ABS) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) compounds, also intended for the automotive sector.
With this plant in Morocco, Repsol will improve its service offering in terms of supplying specific materials for the manufacture of parts needed for the assembly of models in the Tangier, Kenitra and Casablanca plants. The project will be carried out under the sponsorship of the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and with the support of automotive manufacturers based in the kingdom, such as the Renault group and Stellantis (Peugeot).
