US Reinforces Military Ties with Morocco Amid Regional Tensions

The United States has reaffirmed the strength of the partnership and military cooperation with Morocco, whose neighbor (Algeria) is seeking an escalation or even a confrontation.
Recently, Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, revealed to Parliament that the Algerian regime was seeking an escalation and confrontation with Morocco. Following this statement, "the US Department of Defense announced joint military exercises with the Royal Air Force (FRA)", which are part of the solid military cooperation between Morocco and the United States of America, reports Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.
Two B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers from the US Air Force thus took off on November 22 from RAF Fairford, a Royal Air Force base located in Gloucestershire, UK, for a joint training mission with the FRA. "The B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers, escorted by F-16 fighter jets from the Royal Air Force (FRA), carried out a simulation of support and deterrence by dropping bombs in the vicinity of the city of Tan-Tan in the south of the Kingdom," says the daily.
There was also the visit of a delegation from the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) led by Army Corps General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, in the Mediterranean, off the city of Al Hoceima. Once at their destination, this delegation, which was on board the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, was welcomed by Rear Admiral Sean R. Bailey, Commander of the 8th Carrier Strike Group, and Captain Dave Snowden, Commander of the USS Truman aircraft carrier. On this occasion, the Moroccan flag was flying in front of the USS Harry S. Truman, and the FAR delegation received explanations, in particular on the missions of the Carrier Strike Group and its action capabilities.
