Reda Abakrim, alias "Turbo", faces the judges

Reda Abakrim, alias "Turbo", the main suspect in the murder of the husband of singer Rym Fikri, appeared before the Casablanca Court of Appeal in the case of the murder of Brahim Hajaji in France in 2007.
Prosecuted in Morocco in this case, "Turbo" had been acquitted by the criminal chamber of the Casablanca Court of Appeal on April 18, 2023. A decision that had "surprised" Mohamed Aghanaj, the lawyer for the victim’s family, who had appealed. But the defendant had not appeared for the appeal trial. Currently detained for his alleged involvement in the murder of Rym Fikri’s husband, he will be able to attend his trial.
Since his release from the Oukacha prison after his acquittal, Reda Abrakim had been missing until December 22, 2020, when he was arrested at Casablanca airport arriving from Dubai. "He was first arrested for using a fake passport before the police discovered that he was the subject of an international arrest warrant after a 21-year prison sentence in France in a drug trafficking-related murder case," said Me Mohamed Aghanaj.
Considered one of the biggest cannabis traffickers from Morocco to France, "Turbo" was actively sought by the French Office for the Fight against Drug Trafficking (Ofast) as the main suspect in the murder of Brahim Hajaji. In June 2020, the Versailles Assize Court had sentenced him in absentia to 21 years of criminal imprisonment for this murder.
