Record 2.5-Ton Cocaine Bust in Casablanca Frozen Fish Shipment

An investigation has been opened by the judicial police department of Casablanca, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, in order to identify the origin of a significant quantity of cocaine.
The national police services had received a notification from the owners of imported fish distribution units in the city of Casablanca, concerning the discovery of a quantity of a white substance suspected to be cocaine inside a shipment of frozen fish, indicates the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release.
The preliminary findings and the analyzes carried out showed that it was a significant shipment of frozen fish imported from Spain from its country of origin which is located in South America, containing a quantity of cocaine, specifies the same source.
The search and inspection operations carried out simultaneously in a set of businesses and warehouses in Casablanca and its surroundings made it possible to seize a total of 1,370 kg of cocaine, the DGSN notes.
The investigations carried out by the judicial police services of Casablanca are continuing at the moment in order to determine its entry routes into the national territory, in coordination with the international security cooperation networks, concludes the press release.
