Record 426,000 Students to Take Moroccan Baccalaureate Exams in 2023

Some 426,000 students will take the baccalaureate exams this year, up 18% from last year, according to information provided on Monday by Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, to the House of Representatives.
In detail: 58% have opted for the scientific streams, 41% the literary and original streams, and a small 1% have chosen the vocational streams. International streams attract 43% of candidates, while 10% have chosen private institutions. It is also noted that the number of candidates for the free baccalaureate has fallen by 34%, to 132,000 this year.
To ensure the smooth running of the exams, the minister revealed that more than 800 subjects have been designed for the two sessions, some adapted for candidates with disabilities. In addition, 1,753 exam centers will be available across all the Regional Academies of Education and Training (AREF) of the Kingdom.
Benmoussa also emphasized his ministry’s commitment to supporting students in the success of their baccalaureate, while intensifying the fight against fraud. This year, the baccalaureate certificates will have electronic signatures from the directors of the AREFs, and will offer digital services
