Real Madrid Eyes Moroccan Star Achraf Hakimi as Potential Carvajal Replacement
Real Madrid coach Florentino Pérez has found in Achraf Hakimi, 24, the ideal right-back to replace Dani Carvajal, who has been in poor form in recent years.
Achraf Hakimi has become one of the best right-backs in the world, after a remarkable career at Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and currently at PSG, not to mention his performance at the World Cup in Qatar. The young player was one of the leaders who allowed the Moroccan team to achieve the feat of reaching the semi-finals and thus make history in world football.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is impressed by this performance of the Moroccan international, whom he has been following for a few years, and is determined to bring him back to Real, who trained him. But Perez is aware that this transfer will not be easy, first because of the bad relationship between Real Madrid and PSG and then because Hakimi’s contract with the Parisian club runs until 2026.
But Florentino Perez could go through Kylian Mbappé to get Hakimi. The French striker, who is being courted by Real Madrid, has also made the transfer of the Atlas Lion a condition for joining Real in the next summer transfer window. The suspense therefore remains.
