Real Madrid’s David Alaba Vacations in Marrakech During Injury Recovery

A rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee has kept Alaba off the pitch since December 2023. He is gradually recovering from this serious injury. While waiting to play again with Real Madrid, the 31-year-old player treated himself to a few days of vacation in Marrakech.

On Instagram, Shalimar Heppener, his wife, posted photos of their stay in the ochre city, on the occasion of the celebration of her birthday. "In pursuit of sunsets and birthday wishes in Marrakech," she wrote. In the photos, we see them taking a camel ride, under the sun and having dinner in the Agafay desert.

Marrakech is considered a unique place for global celebrities in many fields (sports, arts, politics). In February, players like the Brazilian Vinicius Junior, the Frenchman Edouardo Camavinga, the Dutch-Spanish attacking midfielder of PSG Marco Asensio or the Spanish-Moroccan striker of Real Madrid Brahim Diaz visited the ochre city. Before them, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, former President of the Republic of Croatia (2015-2020), stayed in the red city in January.
