Rare 70-Centimeter Dinosaur Footprints Discovered in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains

Footprints proving the existence of large dinosaurs have been discovered in the Imilchil region, in the Middle Atlas, by Moroccan and Spanish researchers. These footprints measure more than 70 centimeters and would be among the "rarest" in the world archives.
This discovery, cited by H24info, was revealed by a study initiated in 2016 by researchers from Ibn Zohr University in Agadir, Mohammed V University in Rabat and the University of La Rioja (Spain) in the scientific journal Journal of African Earth Sciences.
These experts have identified two ichnites (fossilized footprints) of theropods (carnivorous dinosaurs) described as "colossal", noting that "a new path is opening up for the understanding of these giant carnivores."
Invited to comment on the discovery, Moussa Masrour, professor of paleontology at Ibn Zohr University in Agadir, one of the authors of this study, explained that "these two large footprints from the Imilchil site in the Moroccan Middle Atlas are among the 26 huge theropod footprints known in the world."
And to add that "the discovery of very large footprints proves the existence of large dinosaurs, even in the absence of remains or bones of these huge theropods."
