Rare Anaconda Birth: 27 Babies Born at Moroccan Wildlife Park

The Crocoparc in Agadir recorded the birth of 27 green anaconda snakes on the night of November 19. They will be distributed in parks around the world through exchange or breeding loans.
This is the second time in 2020 that the Crocoparc in Agadir has the joy of welcoming baby anacondas. Last January, a female gave birth to 26 babies of this now very rare species. A source of pride for this animal park which must feel privileged, as births in captivity are rare. It is therefore a privilege for the Crocoparc, which, in a press release, pointed out that a "Japanese zoo has already expressed interest in acquiring some specimens".
Anacondas live in the Amazon basin and females give birth after 7 months of gestation to young who are immediately autonomous. They feed on mammals, birds and reptiles and are able to go for months without eating.
Unfortunately, their life is not so peaceful. The species is endangered because their skin is highly sought after in the leather goods industry.
