Rapper Mister You Faces Legal Risks After Cannabis Product Promotion on Snapchat

The Franco-Moroccan rapper Mister You, whose real name is Younes Latif, has just done what appears to be a product placement for the Caliweed brand (whose products contain cannabis) in one of his Snapchat stories. He risks a lot.
It is in a video posted on Snapchat that we see Mister You lavishing praise on products containing cannabis. Thus, we see him say "Special dedication to Caliweed, the family, the 9-4 big, Villejuif, Sevran too." A product placement, in short, for the Caliweed brand, which sells products containing cannabis, even if it is not yet known whether there was financial or other compensation from the brand. Indeed, product placement is an advertising technique aimed at directly or indirectly promoting products, brands or services by inserting them into a film, a clip or a television program. This is done in exchange for financial compensation or other consideration from the brand.
However, whether this is indeed a product placement or not, Younes Latifi risks a lot. Lawyer Calvin job, quoted by Public, states: "According to Article L3421-4 of the Public Health Code, which prohibits the provocation or trafficking of narcotics, he faces five years in prison and a 75,000 euro fine. An aggravated sentence if minors are affected." It is worth emphasizing in this regard that in terms of influence, Mister You is not lacking. Indeed, several of his clips on Youtube exceed the 30 million views mark.
And that’s not all. We must not forget the possession of narcotics which, for its part, could expose the Parisian rapper from the Moroccan region to up to ten years in prison and a fine of up to 75,000 euros.
Will there be any prosecution? The future will tell.
