Rangers’ Moroccan Striker Igamane Shines in Breakout Performance Against Nice

Arrived at Rangers last summer, Hamza Igamane was seen as a hope for the future. With little experience at the highest level, the young 22-year-old Moroccan striker still had to prove himself.
The Moroccan player’s debut was marked by injuries and a lack of physical condition, limiting his playing time under the direction of Philippe Clement, writes The Daily Mail.
However, in his first appearances, Igamane has shown raw talent and promising creativity. It was during the European match against Nice that the young player truly exploded. Starting only for the third time, he delivered an exceptional performance, scoring two goals and providing an assist.
His first goal demonstrated his sense of anticipation, exploiting a defensive error by the opposition. The second highlighted his technique, with a small bridge followed by an unstoppable curled shot. Igamane constantly harassed the Nice defense, using his power and energy to create opportunities.
This performance contrasts with the performances of Cyriel Dessers, the usual starting striker, often criticized for his lack of efficiency. Igamane has proven that he can be much more than a mere backup, enthuses the British newspaper.
A few weeks before the League Cup final against Celtic, the question arises: could the native of Temara be Clement’s secret weapon? Facing a Celtic team that often manages to contain Dessers, the young Moroccan represents an unpredictable offensive alternative.
Certainly, the Nice defense showed glaring weaknesses in this match. But Igamane’s performance remains impressive. On the Côte d’Azur, a new star seems to have been born for Rangers, concludes the same source. It remains to be seen whether Atlas Lions coach Walid Regragui will fly to Scotland to see him play...
