Ramadan Fitness: How to Safely Exercise While Fasting

Is it possible to practice sports during the month of Ramadan? The answer is Yes. But practical advice must be followed to benefit from the benefits of sports and not create health problems.
Sports and fasting go hand in hand. But practicing sports during the month of Ramadan is subject to certain conditions. It is not recommended to do sports in the early hours of the fast. It is the period just before the breaking of the fast, which is the best time to practice a physical activity. During this period, the body recovers the minerals released during the session, only two hours after the breaking of the fast.
It is not recommended to change sports activities during the fast. The ideal is to continue with the usual activities. On the other hand, during the fast, it is necessary to moderate the strenuous exercises to an average duration of 45 minutes. Swimming, walking and biking are the recommended exercises for those who did not practice any sports before the fast, as there is no danger to health.
Certain measures must be respected for the practice of sports during the month of Ramadan. It is recommended to drink a lot of water a few hours before starting the fast to avoid dehydration; avoid practicing hard exercises; stop doing sports if you feel abdominal pain, an accelerated heart rate, muscle pain or headaches; avoid consuming coffee, tea and carbonated drinks during the Suhoor (pre-dawn meal).
It is recommended to consume balanced meals containing slow sugar such as bread, rice; proteins such as dairy products, meats, fish and fruits and vegetables, insists the same source.
