Ramadan: Agadir wants to put an end to the "bazaar" of ftours on the beach

It is a well-established tradition in Agadir: the sharing of a ftour on the beach during Ramadan. But this year, the habit could be disrupted.
Local sources report that the authorities are considering banning iftar on the city’s beaches. The information, which has not yet been officially confirmed, has already made the rounds on social media and is eliciting mixed reactions. For many Gadiris, iftar on the beach is a moment of sharing and conviviality, a unique opportunity to break the fast in an idyllic setting.
"It’s a family tradition that we love. Getting together on the beach is magical," confides a mother on Facebook. "It’s also a moment of relaxation and entertainment after a long day of fasting," comments a young man.
However, the practice is not without its flaws. Excesses and incivilities have been observed in the past, including noise pollution and illegal dumping of waste. Faced with these inconveniences, the local authorities seem to be leaning towards an outright ban.
