Ramadan 2022 to Begin April 3 in Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and UK, Astronomers Confirm

Astronomers have revealed the start date of the month of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia, Morocco and the United Kingdom.
According to astronomical calculations, the moon will be easily visible to the naked eye on Saturday, April 2 at 7:46 pm (local time) in Saudi Arabia, at 8:12 pm (local time) in Morocco, at 9:15 pm (local time) in London, at 9:21 pm in Bradford (UK), at 9:18 pm in Birmingham (UK) and at 9:09 pm in Leicester (UK). Consequently, the first day of Ramadan 1443H-2022 will correspond to April 3.
Since the appearance of Covid-19, the month of Ramadan has been placed each year under the yoke of health restrictions. In Morocco, the authorities had announced in 2021 a national curfew extending from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., forcing the faithful to perform the tarawih prayers at home. Businesses like restaurants and cafes were required to close at 7:30 p.m. It remains to be seen whether the Moroccan authorities will announce similar measures for Ramadan 2022.
