Rabat Zoo Expands with New African Reptile Exhibit Featuring 40 Species

The Rabat Zoo will soon welcome a new vivarium that will be entirely dedicated to the presentation of different species of African reptiles.
Called "Morocco to Madagascar", the course covers an area of 1700 m2 and will reproduce 6 African ecosystems: Subtropical, Afro-alpine, South Saharan, Equatorial, Malagasy and Moroccan, according to a press release from the Zoological Garden, which states that these biozones represent the original biotopes of the different species and will house about forty species of reptiles such as snakes, pythons, crocodiles and turtles.
Since its opening 7 years ago, the Rabat Zoological Garden has welcomed more than 4 million visitors and has been able, according to the authorities, to present more than 2,000 animals representing about 190 species of mammals, birds and reptiles.
The year 2018 saw the birth, within the zoo, of several species including the Atlas lion, the serval, the oryx, the zebra and the gazelles, the press release states.
