Rabat Mayor Orders Closure of Unauthorized Auto Repair Shops in Océan District

The new mayor of Rabat, Fatiha El Moudni, no longer wants repair workshops and car garages, managed by companies or on a self-employed basis, in the Océan district.
The new mayor of Rabat, Fatiha El Moudni, has made a rather surprising decision. She is ordering repair workshops and car garages, managed by companies or on a self-employed basis, in the Océan district, to close their establishments or change their activities within 15 days, due to the lack of administrative authorization for the use of the public domain, reports Assabah. This decision is causing incomprehension among all users and owners of these establishments, some of which have been open for more than 60 years in the same district located in the heart of the capital. The deadline given to them is also not well received. In reality, the law grants a 60-day deadline following a final legal decision.
Faced with this situation, several owners of these car garages have seized the administrative court, filing several documents, including their tax returns, their contributions to the CNSS and other documents. For his part, the caïd explained to them that the Rabat authorities have made this decision as part of their tourism vision for the city. Rabat is also preparing to host the 2030 World Cup, which Morocco will co-organize with Spain and Portugal.
