Rabat Hospital Denies Link Between Power Outage and Infant Deaths

For the Ibn Sina University Hospital in Rabat, the recent deaths of newborns recorded in the hospital would in no way be attributable to the power cuts that occurred on the same day.
This Tuesday, the management of the Ibn Sina University Hospital categorically denied the information relayed by some media outlets according to which a power cut would have resulted in the death of several babies.
In a clarification from the administration, it is specified that "the hospital did not record any deaths on Saturday, April 6 after a power outage that occurred on the same day at 6:49 am".
For the hospital, several babies did indeed die, but it was due to their state of health. "A baby, whose weight does not exceed 1.5 kg, died at 4:00 pm, more than 9 hours after the power failure, while two others weighing 680g and 850g died at 8:00 pm, more than 13 hours after the incident".
The clarification also states that there was a partial outage, of three sockets, in the department concerned, but this one only lasted 7 minutes.
