Rabat’s Bouregreg Corniche Undergoes Major Renovation Ahead of 2025 Africa Cup

The development work on the Bouregreg corniche in Rabat has recently started. With a duration of 14 months, they should be completed before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled in Morocco.
Launched recently, this work is part of the dynamic of infrastructure development in the cities of Rabat and Salé, in preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup. Estimated at 190 million dirhams, the Bouregreg river corniche development project aims to improve the tourist offer of the two cities, by providing them with leisure, recreation and cultural animation spaces, and contribute to the protection of natural resources and the preservation of the environment.
The project will be implemented under the supervision of the Bouregreg Valley Development Agency created for this purpose. The work will be carried out on an area of more than 6,000 hectares, from the mouth to the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah dam. The project is of particular importance due to the strategic position and historical value of the Bouregreg river corniche. It will enhance the image of Rabat and raise it to the rank of major metropolises and tourist destinations in Africa.
