Rabat’s 12th Century Wall Safe as Railway Renovation Rumors Debunked

The railway company ONCF denied, on Friday, the widely circulated rumors on social media about the demolition of part of the historic wall adjacent to the "Rabat ville" station, built in the 12th century.
Information relayed extensively by activists reported the ONCF’s decision to demolish part of the wall adjacent to the "Rabat Medina" station in order to open a new entrance.
False! Retorts an official source cited by Al Oâmk, specifying that the work has been suspended for months pending the opening of a station entrance, currently under renovation, facing the tramway.
Let us recall that the "Rabat Médina" station is undergoing redevelopment work, according to a new design defined in 2016.
