Quebec Recruitment Drive in Morocco Draws Over 350,000 Applicants for 1,400 Jobs

The worker recruitment mission organized in Marrakech by the Société de développement économique de Drummondville (SDED), one of the three non-governmental partners of the Canadian Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration for the organization of the Journées Québec internationally, was a great success.
In total, 356,260 applications were registered to fill 1,420 positions in the agri-food and food processing, manufacturing and machining, engineering and technical, manufacturing, mining, health and social services, and information technology sectors. This summarizes the worker recruitment mission organized in Marrakech on February 18 and 19. This mission was attended by 64 companies and 168 company representatives from all regions of Quebec, reports the Journal Express website.
Julie Biron, director of talent attraction and workforce development at SDED, is delighted with the success of the mission. "This mission was the largest organized by SDED in the Maghreb region, and it marks a turning point in the young history of our service. I am particularly proud of the work done upstream by our team and the organizing committee who met the challenge. The participating companies also highlighted the high quality of the recruited candidates and the majority of them wish to recruit more candidates than planned."
And she adds: "Companies can now start the immigration process with the help of our specialized lawyers and, in parallel, we will continue our recruitment efforts in Latin America, where we will participate in the Journées Québec in Colombia and Brazil."
