Quebec Halts Recruitment of Moroccan Nurses, Shifts Focus to Nursing Assistants

Moroccan nurses scheduled to attend a job interview on October 26 and 27 in Rabat to work in Quebec have received a message canceling the appointment.
The note states that the Quebec and Moroccan authorities have recently agreed not to proceed with the recruitment of new Moroccan nurses in order to preserve the Moroccan labor market and health system. According to the message, the authorities of the two countries have also concluded an agreement for the recruitment of nursing assistants.
The Government of Quebec had allocated a budget of 64 million dollars to recruit more than a thousand Moroccan nurses in order to fill the deficit in human resources and cope with the aging of the population.
