The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Khalifa Al-Thani, has been on a private visit to Morocco since Tuesday, December 21, 2021. The two countries have maintained good relations for decades.
The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Khalifa Al-Thani, arrived in Morocco on Tuesday as part of a private visit, and is in Errachidia, reports Barlamane. This visit comes the day after the consultative summit of the six countries that make up the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) - Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar - held in Riyadh, during which the GCC leaders affirmed their unconditional support for the Moroccanness of the Sahara.
Last week, King Mohammed VI expressed "his sincere feelings of gratitude and recognition" to the Emir of Qatar "for the clear and strong support" expressed for the Moroccanness of the Sahara and "the full and continued support for Morocco to recover its southern provinces."
The two countries maintain good relations. In a statement to the press on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day, the Qatari ambassador to Rabat indicated that the relations between Doha and Rabat are based on continuous consultation and coordination, both at the bilateral and regional and international levels.
