PSG Star Hakimi Breaks Silence on Rape Allegations, Vows to Clear Name

Achraf Hakimi claims to be deeply affected on a personal and family level by the rape case he is accused of. The Moroccan right-back of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) continues to proclaim his innocence and says he is serene.

In an interview given to the Clique show on Canal+, Hakimi looks back on the rape accusation he has been facing since March 2023 and the negative impact this case has had on his family life. "It’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to me. I’ve never been so wronged before. When lie after lie is written, it hurts, especially for my family. My children can’t read yet, but one day they’ll see all this. And for me, it’s terrible," said the Moroccan defender.

The Atlas Lion was indicted in 2023 for alleged rape, and the Nanterre prosecutor’s office has requested his referral to the criminal court of Hauts-de-Seine last July. Hakimi assures that he has always been cooperative with the police. "I have always been available to the police, I even asked to speak to them. They have my DNA. Thanks to the police’s work, good progress has been made. Today, I have a clear conscience and I hope the truth will come out soon."

The PSG right-back did not fail to comment on the messages exchanged between the alleged victim and a friend via WhatsApp, which had been revealed during the investigation and then relayed by the press. "When I read them, it was a shock. But in football, we are exposed to a lot of things: blackmail, manipulation... After what happened, I reduced my circle of close ones, I no longer let anyone in," laments Hakimi, who also criticized the media’s handling of this case.

"The press has tarnished my name and my dignity. It affects me in my work, with sponsors, but above all with my family. They have sacrificed a lot for me and see their name unfairly dragged through the mud. It’s a deep wound. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone," regretted the Moroccan international.
