PSG Star Achraf Hakimi Accuses Spanish Police of Racial Profiling

The Moroccan international, Achraf Hakimi, is disgusted by the racist behavior of the traffic police in Spain. Often stopped at checkpoints, he deplores the cruel misunderstandings of the police who mistook him for car thieves.
In a statement to the newspaper El mundo Deportivo, the Atlas Lion denounced the racist attitude of the Spanish Police services. "Even if you have a Spanish passport, they only look at an Arab name and a Moroccan face. I don’t know if it’s deliberate, but they are racist," he said.
Often subjected to checks during his trips to the Bernabeu stadium or in the city, the Dortmund star regrets this purely racial discrimination: "They take us for car thieves. Out of respect for all ethnicities, they never stop a white Spaniard."
"During my trips with the Moroccan team in Africa, I met people who suffer and aspire to a better life elsewhere. Far from discouraging me, the images of my continent of origin push me to continue in my struggle," he added with regret.
