PSG’s Achraf Hakimi Reveals Motivation Behind €70M Move to Paris

Nearly €70M, this is the amount of the contract that binds Achraf Hakimi to PSG until 2026. In an interview, the one who is considered one of the best in the right-back position explains the reasons for this choice.
To those who think that this amount makes him one of the most expensive defenders in the world, "No," replies Achraf Hakimi to AFP, adding that for him, "these are just numbers. [...] I’m happy, I want to play and be with my teammates and be able to enjoy everything." And the player affirms that he did not do it under any pressure, not even family: "It’s true that my family can be very happy in this city. But I wanted to see the sporting and future project of PSG. That’s what convinced me."
Has he exchanged with Pochettino? "I was able to talk to him [...], we have to continue to work and improve things," admitted Hakimi, before adding: "The truth is that I chose PSG because there are very great players, an incredible ambition and a great project. They really wanted to recruit me. I felt ready for this challenge and we will do great things."
He reassures about his ability to adapt to his new environment. In addition to the Hispanics in the group, "there is a community that speaks almost Spanish, that will serve me to feel at ease, closer to my teammates. But I also want to learn French, because it is a beautiful language that will also serve me to communicate with my other teammates who do not speak much Spanish," declares, confidently, the Atlas Lion of PSG.
