Protests in Morocco Demand Justice for Slain Al Jazeera Journalist

Activist and journalist groups gathered on Wednesday afternoon in front of the Palestinian embassy in Rabat to protest against the "assassination" of Palestinian journalist Shirine Abou Aqleh.
Shirine Abou Aqleh, a correspondent for Al Jazeera, was killed in the morning on Wednesday by Israeli army fire while covering clashes in the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
The sit-in was organized following the call of the National Union of the Moroccan Press (SNPM), the National Action Group for Palestine and the Moroccan Front for Support to Palestine. During the protest, the demonstrators called for the "Israeli killers" of the journalist to be prosecuted internationally, denouncing "the lack of a firm reaction" from the international community in the face of Israeli crimes against Palestinians.
Aged 51, Shirine Abou Aqleh was killed by a bullet to the head, according to the official Palestinian news agency (WAFA), which stressed that another journalist, Ali Samoudi, was also shot in the back. But his condition is considered stable. He explained that the Israeli forces would have targeted the journalists and press teams on site.
