Promising 19-Year-Old Moroccan-Spanish Athlete Dies in Northern Spain Car Crash

Hamza Bouazzaoui, a young athlete of Moroccan origin, died on Tuesday from injuries sustained in a traffic accident that occurred in Calahorra in northern Spain.
The 19-year-old man, residing in San Adrián (Navarre), passed away this morning after being the victim of a road accident. The family of Hamza Bouazzaoui, of Moroccan origin, settled in the city when he was still a child, said Emilio Cigudosa, the mayor of the municipality, saddened by the death of the young runner.

The victim was a member of the athletics clubs of San Adrián and Ribera Atlético de Tudela. "It is a sad day for Navarrese athletics. The athlete from San Adrián, Hamza Bouazzaoui (19 years old), passed away this afternoon, victim of an accident. RIP Hamza! You will always be in our hearts," tweeted the Atlético club based in Pamplona.
