Projectiles Strike Near Festival in Moroccan Sahara, No Injuries Reported

Projectiles targeted the commune of Mahbes, in the Moroccan Sahara, while a local festival was taking place there.
According to the site Al3omk, the incident fortunately did not cause any injuries. The projectiles, the origin of which is attributed to the Polisario Front, fell near a large gathering of people, causing a panic.
The commune of Mahbes, located in the province of Assa-Zag, is hosting the third edition of the National Festival of the Green March from November 9 to 11, commemorating its 49th anniversary.
This incident recalls a similar event that occurred in October 2023. The Polisario Front had then fired projectiles on the city of Smara, killing one Moroccan living abroad and injuring three. The explosions had hit residential and industrial areas of the city. The Moroccan authorities had then indicated that the injured had been taken care of by the emergency services and that the material damage was limited to two homes.
